This Start-Stop Flying Shear is a marvel of engineering, designed to cut steel bars precisely from head to tail.
In steel plants reheating furnaces are used in hot rolling mills to heat the steel stock (Billets, blooms or slabs)
to temperatures of around 1200 deg C which is suitable for plastic deformation of steel and hence for rolling in the mill.
Consisting of:
Roller table frame in welded steel structure mounted on load cells.
Individually driven rollers mounted on roller bearings.
Alternate arranged fixed and movable plain racks on fabricated steel structure.
Hydraulic cylinders for horizontal and vertical motion of movable frame.
